BI Road Map
A BI Roadmap is RAD approach to Business Intelligence.  Working with the client we develop a roadmap to assist the them in transitioning from their existing solution to the future Business Intelligence platform.

Four Step Process:

1) Conduct BI Assessment
2) Define BI Architecture
3) Develop Proof of Concept
4) Layout Future Road Map

Step-1: CONDUCT BI ASSESSMENT

Work with the customer to understand the existing source environment, and reporting & analysis requirements.
1) Review overall reporting environment and requirements
2) Review existing reports and other BI artifacts and assess areas of concern
3) Analyze and provide guidance on the current use of existing BI tools (BEx and/or any existing BOBJ BI tools)
4) Assess infrastructure (including platform impact, network impact, security authentication and access impact, general sizing and performance)
5) Review Security & Data Access requirements

Step-2: DEFINE BI ARCHITECTURE

Using the information gathered during the Assessment Phase define a BI Architecture which shows the transitions to the destination solution. 


Step-3: DEVELOP A PROOF OF CONCEPT

Utilizing the customers data sources create a proof of concept environment which showcases the Business Intelligence solution.

1) Installation of BI Platform 
2) Creation of POC Data Mart
3) Development of 5 Reports
4) Development of 2 Dashboards
5) Presentation of POC Solution

Step-4: LAYOUT FUTURE ROADMAP

Layout the necessary transitional stages for the client to reach their Business Intelligence destination.

1) Software and Hardware Recommendations
2) High Level Phased Timeline
3) Detailed Project Plan
4) Estimated Cost
5) Change Management Plan
6) Training Plan

Week-1: Assessment
Week-2: Installation of Proof-of-Concept (PoC) System
Week-3: Set up PoC Data Mart, and Important data from SAP
Week-4: Develop Reporting Universe
Week-5: Develop Reports and Dashboards
